Oman, Syria discuss trade ties

MUSCAT: Said bin Saleh al Kiyumi, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), met Imad Khami, Prime Minister of Syria, in Damascus in the presence of Khalid bin Salim al Saadi, Chargé D’affaires of Sultanate’s Embassy in Syria. They discussed trade cooperation opportunities between the two countries. The visit is part of OCCI’s preparations for its participation in Damascus International Fair which will be held from August 17 to 26.


The prime minister expressed the government’s readiness to facilitate entry of Omani firms and products into the Syrian market. Oman-Syria mutual trade cooperation involves attracting Syrian firms, products and investors into the Sultanate.


Al Kiyumi said OCCI will participate in the Damascus International Fair with a dedicated pavilion where Omani firms showcase their products adding that the Omani firms are keen on investing in Syria be it in the oil, tourism or other business fields. — ona
