MUSCAT: Mwasalat has won a global award for the ‘Excellence in the Bus’ category in the annual IRU Awards, which aims to promote the use of public transport within city and inter-city limits. Mwasalat was among the 15 companies in the world to compete for the award and ranked second in its category.
A press release said that the award comes in view of the remarkable growth in the implementation of the public transport strategy in the Sultanate and the extent to which the company seeks to enhance the efficiency of its services and increase the number of bus users in a short period of time and the confidence of customers.
Mwasalat said that this win is a result of the efforts of the company’s staff in improving the quality of services provided to customers in a way that contributes to the consolidation of the public bus culture in the Sultanate.
The company also said that such prizes will encourage and motivate the company to move ahead with the implementation of the strategic plan of the public transport in the Sultanate and reach the desired goals.
In May 2017, Mwasalat won a global award in the ‘Customer Experience’ category organised by UITP. The company also won the Economic Vision 2016 in the ‘Best Government Project’ category.
It may be noted that Mwasalat officially joined the International Union of Road Transport earlier this month during the annual meeting of the Union in Geneva.
