MUSCAT: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) general index 30 on Thursday gained 58.16 points, comprising a rise of 1.15 per cent to close at 5,100.44 points, compared to the last session which stood at 5,042.28 points. The market value rose by 0.323 per cent to reach about RO 17.58 billion.
The trading value declined by 86.6 per cent at RO 3,110,875, compared to the last session of RO 23,249,464.
The value of shares bought by non-Omani investors reached RO 264,000, comprising 8.48 per cent. The value of shares sold by non-Omani investors reached RO 177,000, comprising 5.70 per cent. The net non-Omani investment rose by 2.78 per cent to RO 86,000.
Meanwhile, the price of Oman oil (November delivery 2017) on Thursday rose by 85 cents to $55.18 per barrel from Wednesday’s $54.33 at the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME).
The average price of Oman oil (October Delivery 2017) has stabilized at $50.39 per barrel, $2.76 higher than September delivery 2017. — ONA
