MRMWR, OIFC sign development agreement for Sur old market

953823MUSCAT: The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR) signed on Monday at its headquarters an agreement with the Oman India Fertilizer Company (OIFC) to fund the development and beautification of Sur Old Market in the Wilayat of Sur in the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah. Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed al Shuhi, Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, and CEO of OIFC signed the agreement. The project includes the implementation of the 953821works of improvement, development and beautification of the market in accordance with the terms and conditions agreed upon in the agreement. The architecture of the market will be a mix of heritage and modernity.
The Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources said that this agreement is in line with the social responsibility of the private sector and its national role in supporting and financing development projects in the Sultanate in various sectors, adding that the ministry is seeking, as part of its vision, to promote the principle of partnership and cooperation with various institutions and private companies to upgrade municipal and water services and made available to the beneficiaries as required. — ONA
