Muscat, Jan 6 - Omani fans who were injured in an accident during celebrations at Jaber al Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait will be discharged in a few days, Oman’s Ambassador to Kuwait has said. Some of the fans who sustained minor injuries in the accident have already left the hospital, said the official sources. Forty football fans from Oman, including children, were injured when a glass barrier broke during celebrations following Oman’s win over UAE in the Gulf Cup. The barrier broke as Omani fans pressed against the glass during the celebrations. Anas Khalid al Saleh, Kuwait Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, visited the hospital and met the injured fans. Top officials from Oman, including the chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, visited them.
