Haya Water organises QHSE Day

MUSCAT: As part of Haya Water’s regular and ongoing efforts to raise awareness and totally adhere to the highest standards of quality, health and safety of its employees, consultants, contractors and visitors, as well as protecting the working environment and the steps that were taken in this regard during the last period which enabled the Company to obtain several international certificates such as ISO 9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 17025.

The Company represented by Corporate Support Division, QHSE Department, recently organised a QHSE Day. A number of regulations, manuals and tools for various aspects related to quality, health, safety and environment were presented, as well as a detailed explanation by specialists in the area.

Sultan bin Rashid al Marhoobi, Sr QHSE Manager, said: “Such activities contribute to raise awareness about the quality, health, safety and environment of the Company in terms of developing the quality of work, and enhancing the processes methodology and techniques and to always work to conform to the rules and regulations related to occupational health and safety, as well as identifying, assessing and reducing risks. In addition, it focusses on the way of responding to emergency cases and reducing number of accidents and imminent accidents. At the same time, these activities increase environmental awareness of all employees and ensure the compatibility of the Company’s work with the environmental laws and legislation in the Sultanate.

Al Marhoobi added: “Haya Water has made huge progress in the field of quality management, health, safety and environment. Such events are an addition to raise awareness about quality, health, safety and environment among the employees. The support of the executive management for such events confirms their care to adhere to international standards in terms of quality, health, safety and environment in all Haya’s sites and projects.

During the ceremony, the winning divisions in the quality competition were presented awards.
