ESO hotel donation supports Sultanate’s environmental preservation efforts

Over the last four years, The Environment Society of Oman (ESO) has partnered with The Chedi Muscat ensuring much needed funding for environmental conservation projects.
Mr. Morton Johnston, General Manager of The Chedi Muscat said, “We are delighted to be able to support ESO. Tourism puts enormous pressure on the environment and we are offering Oman’s tourists the chance to support Oman’s only environmental NGO by helping to protect our endangered wildlife and conserve our natural heritage.”
Lamees Daar, Executive Director of ESO added, “We would like to encourage more hotels to join ESO’s hotel donation partnership and give guests the opportunity to give to a worthy cause.”
The ESO hotel donation programme adds a RO 1 donation to guests’ hotel bills upon check out which the guest can opt out of should they prefer. Donations will go towards ESO’s long standing conservation projects which aim to protect Oman’s endangered species including Arabian Sea Humpback Whales, Frankincense Trees, Loggerhead Turtles and Egyptian Vultures.
