CBO, Palestine Monetary Authority sign MoU

MUSCAT: the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) on Thursday signed at its headquarters a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Palestine Monetary Authority.


The MoU was signed by Taher bin Salim al Amri, CBO Executive President and Dr Azzam al Shawa, Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority.


The MoU comes within the framework of CBO’s endeavour to strengthen its banking relations with other central banks and regulatory authorities of friendly countries in banking supervision, the terms of the MoU includes areas of cooperation in terms of enhancing bilateral relations and exchanging of information and experiences related to the development of financial and banking sectors.


It also covers the development of the professional cadres, the convergence of common means and standards in the fields of banking supervision and financial stability, as well as benefiting from expertise in these fields and establishing a good working relationship between the two parties. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr Tayseer Ali Daoud Farhat, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Sultanate. — ONA
