The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested 247 expatriates, including 199 women, for cases related to prostitution and human trafficking from Bausher. The defendants were mostly of the Asian and African nationalities, said a statement from the police.
The defendants were arrested from several locations in the Bausher in coordination with the Department of Criminal Investigation, Crime Control Department, Bausher Police Station, Special Forces Police, Ministry of Manpower and Boucher Municipality.
The defendants will be charged for infiltration, Labour and Foreigners Residency Law violations, fraud, prostitution and human trafficking. The case has been referred to the judicial authorities for further investigation.
