By Vinod Nair — MUSCAT: Dec 27: The Children First Association will launch a campaign in cooperation with Royal Oman Police on awareness about using car seats for children. As part of the campaign, around 200 car seats will be distributed to motorists found to not use them. The association praised the ROP for their cooperation in this campaign. Baby seats are important in the context of following incidents this year where a 9-month child died in an accident as her vehicle overturned several times. The baby was on her mother’s lap and thrown out of the vehicle. A seven-month-old baby was thrown out of the car when the car was hit, while a baby of 20 months was thrown out of the car in a crash. ROP has been also conducting awareness campaigns on the mandatory use of baby seatbelts while travelling.
