Al Ittifaq claim women’s futsal title

MUSCAT, Dec 23 - Al Ittifaq were crowned champions of fourth edition of women futsal tournament after beating Ahli Sidab 3-1 at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex indoor courts. Sultan Qaboos University team finished third after registering a win over Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). The 10-day tournament during December 11 to 22, featured participation of eight teams.

Suada al Ismaili, Director of Women’s Sports at Ministry of Sports Affairs, was the chief guest. She presented the trophies to the three top teams in the tournament along with the individual awards. Aya Abdul Samee from Al Itiffaq team grabbed the top-scorer award, while Moza al Mamari from Sultan Qaboos University became the most valuable player. Ameera al Busaidi from Ahli Sidab won the best goalkeeper award. Oryx team claimed the fair play award.
