Agencies to verify the quantity of fuel sold to consumers in Oman

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has prepared a list of authorities that will  verify the quantity of liquid fuel sold at stations and preserve the rights of both the trader and the consumer. Fayza bint Hamad Al-Mashrafiyeh, Director of Precious Metals Standards and Control Department at the General Directorate of Standards and Metrology at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that this regulation was prepared after the Ministry prepared a special study on calibrating liquid fuel pumps and procedures followed by specialized companies working in this field. With the relevant authorities, the entities operating in the field of calibration and verification of liquid fuel pumps have been authorized according to the measurement and calibration law issued by Royal Decree No. 17/2013.
She added that the regulation aims to verify the quantity of liquid fuel sold to the consumer in accordance with the special conditions mentioned in this regulation, which applies to all fixed liquid fuel pumps installed in fuel stations within the Sultanate
