MUSCAT: A workshop on the Integration of the WHO Patient Safety Curriculum Guide into Healthcare Academic Institutions in the Sultanate began at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque on Monday under the patronage of Dr Ali bin Talib al Hinaeei, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health for Planning Affairs. The workshop is organised by the Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Quality Assurance Center in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).

The two-day workshop aims at informing healthcare professionals and educators on how to teach 11 patient safety topics based on WHO guidance, as well as exchanging information about patient safety education in Oman among inter-disciplinary healthcare educators. Faculty members from medical, dental, pharmacy and allied healthcare academic institutions in Oman participated in this workshop. The workshop provides a platform for sharing knowledge and information relating to patient safety education and training among multi-disciplinary health-care professionals in Oman.  — ONA
