MUSCAT: The Sultanate’s Embassy in South Korea organised an event titled ‘Welcome to Oman’ on the occasion of the 47th National Day anniversary. The event is aimed at highlighting the Sultanate’s history, culture, civilisation and the modern development. During the event, the embassy hosted a number of school students as well as teachers and education officials. Mohammed bin Salim al Harthi, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, presented a visual display in which he talked about Oman’s history, culture and civilisation, highlighting the importance of the country’s strategic geographical location and its role in the world’s maritime and trade. He also spoke about the Silk Road and frankincense caravans through the ages. In his speech, Al Harthi delved into the Sultanate’s modern Renaissance led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the tourist landmarks of Oman, the Omani-Korean relationship and the Sultanate’s experience of tolerance, coexistence and multiculturalism. — ONA
