Sultanate, Austria hold bilateral discussions

MUSCAT: An official talks session was held between the Sultanate and the Republic of Austria at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
The Omani side was led by Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, while Karin Kneissl, Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria led the Austrian side.
The meeting discussed a number of issues and interests related to bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two friendly countries. The Sultanate welcomed the desire of the Austrian government to reopen its Embassy in Muscat in support of the existing relations and strengthening the joint ties between the two friendly countries.
A number of regional and international issues of common concern were also discussed.
Both sides stressed the importance of dialogue and cooperation with regard to finding solutions to the region’s issues and all that would enhance security and stability in the region and the world. — ONA
