State Council Chief arrives in Jakarta for IORA summit

JAKARTA:  Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, arrived in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, on Monday to lead the Sultanate’s delegation in the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) summit, yesterday and today (March 6 and 7). Dr Al Mantheri and his accompanying delegation were received at Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport by Mohammad Nasir, Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, a number of Indonesian officials, Sayyid Nizar bin Al Julanda bin Majid al Said, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Indonesia and members of the Omani Embassy in Jakarta.

Earlier, Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council left on Monday heading to the Republic of Indonesia to lead the Sultanate’s delegation in the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Summit, due to be held in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. Dr Al Mantheri is accompanied by Sayyid Nizar bin Al Julanda bin Majid al Said, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Shaikh Yahya bin Abdullah bin Salim Al Fanna al Oraimi, Head of the Economic Affairs Sector at the Foreign Ministry and a number of officials.

Dr Al Mantheri and his accompanying delegation were seen off in Muscat by Dr Khalid bin Salim bin Said al Saeedi, Secretary-General of the State Council,  Shaikh Dr Al Khattab bin Ghalib al Hinaeei, Deputy Chairman of the Council, Dr Suad bint Mohammed bin Ali Sulaiman al Lawattiyah, Deputy Chairman of the Council and Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Sultanate. — ONA
