Sponsorship for 3x3 GCC basketball meet discussed at meeting

MUSCAT, May 13 - The sponsorship for 3x3 GCC basketball championship, that acts as qualification for the Asian championship, was the main topic that was discussed during the GCC basketball meeting held in Muscat on Sunday as part of the 38th edition of GCC clubs championship which is running in Muscat these days. The meeting was held in Grand Millennium Hotel in Muscat in presence of all the GCC basketball committees chairmen. Farid Khamis al Zadjali, chairman of Oman Basketball Association, commenced the meeting by expressing his regards of the sports affairs minister and chairman of Oman Olympic Committee.

“We hope this meeting will come out with beneficial results and are looking forward that Kuwait Basketball to rejoin the GCC soon as they stopped now,” Al Zadjali added. “I would like to thank all the participating teams in the GCC club’s championship which has been part of the success. Also, big clap for the Nizwa club board member which organised the championship” Al Zadjali concluded. On the other hand, all the GCC basketball nations thanked the Sultanate for hosting this meeting, the GCC clubs championship and GCC U-19 teams which concluded a month ago.

Also, the heads of GCC national basketball committees appreciated the continuous support from the Ministry of Sports affairs and Oman Olympic Committee.

During the meeting, the chairmen discussed organising of 3x3 GCC basketball championship, that acts as qualification to the Asian Championship. Also, they highlighted on the sponsorship ways for the GCC tournaments and championships. In addition they approved the continues of the training sessions for referees, umpires and coaches.

UAE will host the coming meetings of GCC organising until 2023 and that’s approved during the meeting.
