By Business Reporter — MUSCAT: Dec 4: Sale International, the sole distribution partner for OmanTel in the Sultanate, celebrated its fifth successful year of operations with a new record of achievement by reaching over 6,000 points of sale with electronic voucher recharge distributed across all geographical areas of the Sultanate, either through dedicated terminals or with counters directly integrated with Sale International.

“Omantel was keen on introducing a first to market solution to support its digital transformation vision and leading market position” said Iyad al Lawati, Senior Manager of Indirect Sales at Omantel,  “and with the support of its channel partner in the Sultanate we are pleased to celebrate this remarkable milestone in our partnership, today we proudly can say that we are available through our partner terminals in over 6,000 point of sale offering Hayyak and Marhaba top ups and will soon offer more services that will ease the life of Omanis and expats”.

GM of sales in Sale International Jesper Hansen highlighted that the strategy since the inception of the company more than five years ago is to introduce new solutions to the Omani market and support its partner’s presence through major distribution infrastructure.  Coupled with training and development programmes for its distribution teams this has paid out today with Sale International being the biggest distribution arm for telecommunication and connectivity products in the Sultanate. ‘‘Though this is a major milestone and far beyond the level of our competitors, we’ll continue to enhance our distribution network, making our partners products available to the consumers in the most efficient way”, says Jesper Hansen.

One of the early merchants adopting the electronic recharge and a customer of Sale International, Rathath Shopping, with two shopping centres in Ghubra, emphasises on the control and availability as key advantages of the electronic recharge: “The fact that you don’t have any physical stock and can remotely transfer stock in seconds give huge benefits in reducing risk of theft as well as avoiding running out of stock”, says the owner, Omar Nasser Almawali, who recommends other similar retail chains to also adopt the new technology.

The success of Sale International is also a story of company succeeding in embracing local talent, thus creating employment for Omani’s. “We are proud to announce that almost three out of four employees at Sale international are Omanis” Dr Abdullatif Buallay, Human Resources Director of Sale International added that, “This year marks a successful year in terms of human resources at Sale International, where more than half of our employees have attended a training or development programme during 2016 and more than 12 Omani interns/trainees where hired since the beginning of the year because we believe in local talent. In this way we will continue the investment in the human resources because this is what differentiate us”.

Zubaida al Balushi, a newly graduated Process, Operations and Maintenance Engineer, who has recently joined Sale International as a trainee says, “The position at Sale has been a great opportunity for me to get a first job with real job experience, and the teams at Sale are very supportive and provides a lot of guidance, which is what you need as a fresh graduate”. Zubaida hopes that the internship will lead to a permanent role at Sale International at the end of her internship. Dr Abdullatif Buallay further praises the support received from Ministry of Manpower in making this possible by providing strong candidates for the programme, without which “this wouldn’t have been possible”.

Nasser Khaled the newly appointed General Manager highlighted that Sale successfully operates now in Oman, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and is expanding its geographical network and products line-up during 2017 to include more offering for our merchants and customers, He added “The omani operation is a strategic one for us and our partnership with OmanTel proofed its success on all aspects, we are proud with this partnership and will never stop investing in the Omani Market because we believe in the potential”, he added “we thank all of our partners, merchants and customers across all regions in Oman and we promise them to continue our efforts to provide the best possible service”.
