As part of the efforts of the Royal Oman Police to control violators of the labour and residence laws, the police team in Nizwa in coordination with the competent authorities carried out a campaign to arrest 96 violators from areas around Samail. The violators were referred to the judicial authorities to complete the legal proceedings.
The team from Khasab police station arrested a citizen for indulging in drifting activities and causing inconvenience to the people in Khasab. The legal procedures have been initiated against him.
An official source in the Royal Oman Police said that such misconduct is punishable by law because of the danger it poses to road users and residents in the area. The ROP calls on citizens and residents to report such cases as they occur by visiting the nearest police station or calling the emergency number (9999).
