Muscat: The Sultanate’s producer price index (PPI)-based inflation fell by 1.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the same period of last year due to a fall in oil and gas prices, according to the latest statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
The price of oil and gas products fell by 0.9 per cent, and those of non-oil products fell by 3.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2019, over the same period of last year. Among oil and gas group, refined oil products fell by 3.7 per cent, and the prices of crude oil and natural gas fell by 0.4 per cent in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the same period of the previous year. — ONA
