Pakistan naval ships on goodwill visit

MUSCAT: Three vessels from Pakistan Navy, Submarine Hurmat, accompanied with sailing ship Rahnaward and Rasadgar visited Muscat from December 29 to January 2. The vessels were led by Commodore Altaf Hussain, Commander Submarines.


On December 30, an onboard reception was hosted for diplomatic corps and prominent Pakistanis.


Also gracing the occasion were numerous Officers of Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF). On January 1, Commodore Hussain, called on Ambassador of Pakistan Ali Javed who hailed the substantive effort by Pakistan Navy to further historically fraternal ties with the Sultanate.


The ambassador accorded a comprehensive briefing on bilateral relations and praised the increasing frequency of goodwill visits by Pakistan Navy, reflective of the soaring trajectory of cooperation.


The Mission Commander and Commanding Officers also called on the SAF authorities and visited Said bin Sultan Naval Base. The goodwill visit also contributed towards improving interoperability and learning from each other experiences on maritime operations.


Upon departing Port Sultan Qaboos, the Pakistani sailing vessel Rahnaward and Shahbab Oman II sailed together in exhibition of bilateral friendship.
