OOC reviews preparation for Asian Games

MUSCAT: The Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) on Wednesday reviewed the preparations for Oman’s participation in the 18th Asian Games scheduled to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from August 18 to September 2, 2018. The OOC Board of Directors held its fourth meeting this year at OOC premises under the chairmanship of Shaikh Khalid bin Muhammad al Zubair, OOC Chairman. Shaikh Khalid delivered an opening address in which he welcomed the board members and commended their efforts over the past year in activating the implementing the plans and programmes aimed at promoting Oman’s Olympic movement.
The meeting discussed several important issues, including review of records and previous meetings and actions taken on recommendations and decisions issued by the board.
It also reviewed the recommendations of the seminar entitled ‘Sport for an Active Society’ held at the Majlis Ash’shura on October 25. Shaikh Khalid thanked Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of the Majlis Ash’shura, for hosting the seminar at the council premises.
The meeting decided to review report of ANOC General Assembly in which Khalid al Zubair and Taha al Kishry, OOC Secretary General, took part.
