London: The Sultanate offers a wonderful mix of heritage and modern life, British newspaper The Telegraph said in a report on Wednesday.

“The Sultanate has a lot to offer visitors. It is a place where you can visit a traditional market in the morning and attend a world-class evening show at the Royal Opera House.” It added that the adventurer will find an ideal tourist destination in the Sultanate, including hiking, diving, fishing, windsurfing, exploring the caves... and an endless list of tourist activities to enjoy, from towering mountains to valleys with water, endless beaches and many of the most spectacular desert landscapes in the world.

The Telegraph said that the diverse nature of Oman is evident throughout the country. It has endless sand dunes and vast deserts, home to the ancient Bedouin traditions and diverse wildlife.

The Telegraph described the wild camping tourism in the Sultanate as unforgettable experiences... in which you can imagine waking up on the bright rays of the sun on the dramatic canyons and there is world-class diving to see coral reefs and marine life and plenty of opportunities for water sports and camel riding enthusiasts.

The Telegraph said Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat is a unique example of Islamic architecture.

“Sitting prettily on the waterfront, it is a charming city, sensitively developed with some stand-out pieces of Islamic architecture, particularly its imposing Grand Mosque. Its architectural highlights aside, Muscat is a deeply pleasant place to immerse yourself in the local culture, not least thanks to its gorgeous beaches and luxurious five-star resorts. During the day, locals and tourists idle about the fishing port, keeping an eye out for the handsome wooden-hulled dhows that dot the water.”

It added that the Sultanate is an exciting and favourite destination throughout the year. It has a rich history of diverse landscapes. It includes sand dunes, desert, tranquil beaches, date palm trees and lush green mountains. The Telegraph also said, “Whether you’re seeking adventure, chasing staggering scenery or in need of a culture fix, Oman is sure to exceed expectations.” — ONA
