Oman, US hold talks on current Gulf crisis: Foreign Ministry

Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, has received a telephone call from the Rex Tillerson, US Secretary of State, regarding the bilateral relations between the two countries, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

Tillerson expressed his confidence and his emphasis on the strength of bilateral relations and the desire to continue and strengthen them in various fields.

The Sultanate’s affirms supporting the efforts of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Sabah and his good offices to resolve the current Gulf crisis. The Sultanate hopes that these efforts will be supported by all parties, including the United States.

The Sultanate has the confidence that the brothers in the GCC have the desire to overcome this crisis and help the GCC to achieve the objective, which is to serve the common interests of the peoples of the GCC States and preserve the region’s security and stability.
