Muscat: Oman Cricket Club-Salalah successfully conducted its First Annual Award Night for the season 2017-2018. The event was held at Crown Plaza Hotel, Dhofar Ball Room on April 11, 2018.
All the officiating umpires and sponsors who supported the tournament were present for this grand occasion with Oman Cricket Club-Salalah Executive Committee members.
Faisal Ali al Nahdi, director, activities & sports development, Directorate General Sports Affairs Dhofar Governorate was the chief guest for the evening. Kanak Khimji, chairman, Oman Cricket was guest of Honour and Anil Khimji, director, Khimji Ramdas Group was Special Guest along with Kiran Asher, treasurer, Oman Cricket, Madhu Jesrani Secretary Oman Cricket & Vaishali Jesrani Captain Women’s Cricket Oman.
Vaishali Jesrani welcomed the chief guest and guest of honour with a bouquet on behalf of Oman Cricket Club-Salalah. Anil Kumar Secretary Oman Cricket Club (OCC)-Salalah invited Axay Mehta, vice chairman, OCC-Salalah for welcome address and Kiran Asher to address the gathering. Kiran Asher gave a brief summary about development of Oman Cricket in Muscat. He informed the audience about the Oman Cricket’s latest Office Complex and Practice Pitches etc. which is completed and inauguration to take place at the earliest. He also informed cricketers in Salalah to form a Dhofar Cricket Team and organise inter region matches between Muscat-Suhar-Salalah and identify players from region who can represent Oman in International matches.
He also emphasised on developing cricket at school level at the earliest.
Anil Kumar then gave a brief information on the recently concluded league matches and Champion of Champion tournament. There were 27 teams participated in four divisions played the league matches and the winners & runners up of all division played a tournament between them for Champion of Champion Trophy. There were a total of 165 matches played in three grounds and six matches in a day.
League Matches started on November 24 and finished on March 9. Currently the knock out tournament is going on in two divisions and finals will be held on April 27 to end the season 2017-2018.
Faisal Ali al Nahdi and Kanak Khimji were invited on stage with Madhu Jesrani who gave away the trophies & individual medals to winners & runners up of D division, Kiran Asher gave trophies & medals to C division.

A Division: Danube Winners, Al Ameen Ayurveda Clinic/Sweets of Oman Runners Up
B Division: First Technology Winners & Ahbar Trading Runners Up
C Division- Gulf Foundation Winners & Muscat Pharmacy Runners Up
D Division: Sabil Al Khair Winners & Al Hakeem Medicals Runners Up.
We also had a Champion of Champion Trophy held between eight top teams of four divisions and winners were:
Danube: Champions & Al Ameen Ayurveda Clinic/Sweets of Oman Runners Up.
D Division: Siddiq (V-C) from Al Hakeem was best batsman, Monir Hossain from Toufiq United, best bowler
C Division: Azim from Gulf Foundation: Best Batsman, Rais from Gulf Foundation: Best Bowler & Kuttoos from Al Naba Services: Man of Series.
B Division: Nimal Maxom from Creative Engineering: Best Batsman, Sajan Thomas of First technology: Best Bowler & Riju Raj Man of Series.
A Division: Zain Al Abdeen of Ardaf LLC: best batsman, Asif Ali of Al Ameen Ayurveda Clinic: Best Bowler & Iqram from Al Mamoorah: Man of the series.
