MUSCAT: Abhishek Rai struck a superb 69 off 39 to help Douglas OHI to a thrilling 4-wicket victory against Design Group Engineering Consultants in a C Division T20 League game at Muscat Municipality ground 2 in Amerat on Friday.
Design Group posted a robust 167 for 4 on the board thanks to brilliant batting by Parvez Beg who slammed unbeaten 98 off 59.
OHI’s chase was led by Abhishek’s to knock that included 4 sixes and Waman Jagannath’s solid 28-ball 39 as it scored 168 for 6 in 19.5 overs for a sensational win.
Deepak shines in Ideal win
In another C Division match, Deepak Bhandari’s excellent all-round show steered Ideal International to a comfortable 7-wicket win over Jumbo Electronics at Muscat Municipality ground 1.
Ideal did well to restrict Jumbo Electronics to 115 for 7 thanks to Deepak’s splendid 2 for 10 in four overs and then chased it down in only 8.1 overs, scoring 117 for 3 thanks to major contributions from Salman Khan (43) and Deepak Bhandari (37).
Rahul leads Vanderlande to victory
Rahul Chadha’s top class 83 and 3 for 23 were the highlights of Vanderlande’s exciting 19-run victory against Ideal Technology in a D Division T20 League game at Muscat Municipality ground 3.
Vanderlande’s impressive 205 for 5 was led by Rahul’s 52-ball 83 and Barathwaj Vinayagam’s 54 off 41.
Ideal Tech fought well but fell short by 19 runs, getting dismissed for 186 in 19.4 overs due largely to Rahul’s 3 for 23. Harish Mohan and Amir topscored with 44 each.
