MUSCAT, OCT 10 -

MVR Cancer Center and Research Institute (MVRCCRI), which is fast becoming one of the most sought after cancer treatment centres in Kerala, has announced its plans to strengthen its presence in the Middle East. The measure has been taken owing to the increasing inflow of patients from the region, especially from Oman, said Dr Narayanankutty Warrier, medical director, MVRCCRI. The incidences of cancer have been increasing across the world, and Middle Eastern region is no different, he said. With in 210 days of inception, MVRCCRI was forced to admit more than 5000 patients from various parts of India and abroad and conducted surgeries for 300 patients, he added.

“Our belief in fair and ethical medical practices coupled with people friendly initiatives has resonated across boundaries and I am humbled by such a response. We believe that accurate recognition of the patients’ needs and expectation is the most important step in defining and delivering world-class services at a cost optimised manner. We will continue to set new benchmarks for medical experience with regards to affordability, accessibility and reach,” added Dr Warrier.

MVRCCRI, which was launched with an investment of INR 350 crores, provides state-of-the-art treatment facilities at Kozhikode, which is on a par with the accepted standards in the West. Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated MVR Cancer Centre and Research Institute (MVRCCRI), earlier this year.

The hospital recently made an announcement about the launch of their Information centre at Dubai to make the treatment facilities accessible to NRIs and other nationalities. The expansion in the region and the foray into Oman is part of the hospital’s plan to strengthen its presence in the GCC region.

The hospital, which is equipped with some of the most well known specialists from India, has been at the forefront of advocating early detection of cancer, which is aimed at reducing the mortality rate among its patients. “We have been equipped with 12 specialised departments that provides treatments to various cancers that affect the body,” remarked

Dr Warrier.
