Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower (Mom) has linked its inspection electronically with the Public Prosecution in Oman
The new system is aimed at sharing the details about violations of the labour law by expatriate workers with the prosecution to ensure a speedy closure of all disputes.
It may be noted that the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) and the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) have an online programme to monitor violations in the crediting salaries of employees in the private sector.
The system will be able to whether there has been violations of the terms agreed in the employees’ contracts with regards to the date and amount of the salaries to be transferred.
The system will be help gauge the effectiveness of the government policy that all salaries of the employees should be compulsorily transferred to their bank accounts. With this system, the ministry will be to monitor online the entire process of salary credit of employees, which will help in the event of disputes over the non-payment.
