Ministry implements IMO audit programme

MUSCAT: The Mandatory Audit Program implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications represented by the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs began on Sunday under the auspices of Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications, in collaboration with the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The programme is implemented at the maritime administration in the Sultanate and lasts up to March 19. It includes visits to the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), the Royal Oman Police (ROP), represented by the Directorate General of Police Coast Guard, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, Oman National Hydrographic Office, Arabian Maritime and Navigational Aid Services, and Ports Services Corporation/Sultan Qaboos Port. A number of undersecretaries and officials from the civil and military authorities attended the opening of the program. — ONA
