MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education and Omantel on Wednesday signed an agreement to launch the national project Safe Road System for the management and tracking of school buses as well as the provision of the smart transport services which is considered to be the first service of its kind in the region. The agreement was signed by Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education and Talal bin Said al Maamari, CEO of Omantel. As per the agreement, Omantel will provide innovative telecom solutions for both government and private school buses and equip them with advanced information technology and telecommunication systems and set a database for the Safe Road System in accordance to the latest international standards.
