MUSCAT: The 1st International Conference on Cement and Concrete Technology was opened at the Military Technological College (MTC) on Monday under the patronage of Mohammed bin Nassir al Rasbi, Secretary General at the Defence Ministry, in the presence of Air Vice Marshal Matar bin Ali al Obaidani, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), Chairman of MTC Board.


The 3-day conference is being organised in cooperation and coordination with Concrete Technology Institute in the United Kingdom (UK) with participation of researchers, experts and those


interested from within and outside the Sultanate.


The conference addresses the latest developments in the field of cement and concrete technology, as well as challenges facing this vital sector and their relevant implications on modern construction.


Further, the conference shares academic expertise among specialists, experts, professionals, researchers and those interested in this regard.


The opening ceremony was attended by Salim bin Mohammed al Nuaimi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Transport, Commodore Mohammed bin Nassir al Wahibi, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) for Administration, Brig Ahmed bin Suleiman al Abadi, Head of the Engineering Services at the Defence Ministry, senior SAF officers, CEOs of the private institutions specialised in the field of cement and concrete in the Sultanate and heads of the academic departments of the higher education institutions. — ONA
