Marhoon to open HR forum today

Muscat: The 2nd Oman Human Resources Forum, 2019 will start on Wednesday under the auspices of Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service. The forum is organised by Al Roya newspaper.


Hatim bin Hamad al Taie, Editor-In- Chief of Al Roya newspaper, said “ The forum, in its second edition, is the culmination and continuation of the first edition of the last year. The forum is entitled “Productivity: Required Responsibilities and Actions”.


The aim of the forum is to discuss the state of human resource development in the Sultanate, in accordance with the directives of a highly qualified committee comprising experts and specialists from governmental and private institutions who have agreed to discuss two main topics.


The first will address productivity criteria at work, its measurement tools, and the role of human and a mechanism to determine the launch of a “ National Index of Productivity Measurement”.


The discussions of the second theme will focus on how to invest the challenges and transform them into opportunities that support productivity indicators, as well as discuss possible legislation to enhance production through exchange of experiences and review of a number of promising national models. The forum will also be accompanied by a workshop on “ Productivity Activation Tools and Performance Measurement”, as well as highlighting success stories of corporate transformation (real-world transformation stories) with the participation of selected human resource experts, specialists and officials.


Al Taie said “ The forum will include four sessions, the first will be entitled “ Productivity …. Procedures and Indicators”. The second session is about success stories in productivity enhancement. Saleh al Badi will present a working paper on the institutional transformation of companies.


The third session entitled “The Role of Human Resources in Enhancing Productivity” and the fourth session entitled “Possible Legislation to Enhance Productivity.”


The forum is scheduled to be accompanied by a training workshop for entrepreneurs on “Productive Activation Tools and Methods of Measuring Performance” by Said bin Abdul Karim al Balushi.
