Future Foresight Forum begins on Wednesday

MUSCAT: The Future Foresight Forum will begin on Wednesday under the patronage of Sayyid Haitham bin Tareq al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, Chairman of the Main Committee of Oman 2040 Vision. The two-day forum will be held at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.


Top Omani and foreign experts will come together to find inspired solutions to ensure a better social and economic welfare for the Sultanate in the coming years.


Former president of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves will deliver the opening address.


The forum will host a number of leading global strategists and major names in the energy industry who will highlight the likely future scenarios for Oman.


Participants will deliberate on key topics, such as political geography, international affairs, economic transformation, the fourth industrial revolution, information technology, renewable energy, future of petrochemicals, scarcity of resources, future of cities, future of public and private sector, and demographic and social changes.


Around 300 specialists and experts will attend the forum, which will serve as the basis platform to draft a long-term strategy for the Sultanate’s economy.


The forum will host a group of international speakers and participants who will represent the Omani youth, the local private sector, entrepreneurs, and government officials.


Collectively, the participants will discuss scenarios and form a shared opinion regarding Oman’s future strategies. — ONA
