Cartier, French luxury goods conglomerate company, for the first time in Oman, held a watchmaking event in Muscat, at the Chedi Hotel alongside with Khimji’s Watches, the Maison’s trusted partner.
Guillaume Alix, Regional Managing Director at Cartier for the Middle East, India and Africa, said, “It is an honour and a privilege to meet the Maison’s clients and press in Oman as there is a very special relationship between Cartier and Oman. In 1912, Jacques Cartier sailed to the warm shores of the Arabian Gulf drawn by the marvels of the region and to source the world’s most precious pearls. Oman holds a unique position as gateway to the Gulf and, as such, is the first of the Gulf lands to welcome sea travellers to the region. Jacques Cartier returned not only with pearls but also with friendships and a great source of inspiration, which continue to nurture the style of the Cartier Maison today.”
“It gives me great pleasure to welcome our dear clients and press to this event, and where we share with you this remarkable treasure of Cartier watches, showcasing timeless authenticity and luxury”, Anil Khimji- Director, Khimji Ramdas added.
Cartier has always placed the craftsmanship and the creativity at the very hearts of the creations. From Santos to Panthere, the Maison’s creativity and innovation have always been boundless. The alluring Panthere motif, with its feline grace has been one of the most beloved icons. Inspired by Jeanne Touissant, a personality who dramatically impacted the design of the creations and envisioned a new expression of femininity.
Also presented at the event, the Santos de Cartier watch has been maintained throughout the successive decades since its creation in 1904.
In the age of engineering, at the dawn of the 20th century, its revolutionary design and usage echoed the spirit of speed and progress. Its distinctive aesthetics symbolised the modern era. The new Santos de Cartier watch stays true to this original philosophy by reflecting the innovative, ever-changing spirit of its own age.
The instantly recognisable elegance of the Cartier timepiece is a marker of contemporary luxury. Constantly in motion, it never ceases to be a universal symbol of prestige and style.
