Fourth Social Week aims to enhance communication

MUSCAT: Activities of the 4th Social Week began in the Governorate of Muscat on Sunday. The social week is being organised by the Ministry of Social Development, represented by the Directorate-General of Social Care in cooperation with the Omani Woman Association and the Social Development Committees in the Wilayats of Muscat and Matrah.
The opening ceremony of the week was held at the theatre of the Ministry of Education in Al Wattiyah under the auspices of Nasser bin Sulaiman al Sibani, Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority of Radio and Television (PART).
Dr Yahya bin Badr al Ma’awali, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, said in a statement that the social week includes several activities relating to the social side, stressing the active role carried out by the non-governmental organisations and the private sector.
Humaid bin Salim al Toobi, Director of the Social Development Department in Muscat and the Supervisor of the activities, said that the social week aims at enhancing the communication and integration among individuals in the society, in addition to promoting the spirit of social partnership in implementing social and economic activities and programmes. — ONA
