MUSCAT: The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources will organize the Food Safety Week for the fourth consecutive year from April 9-13. The event is aimed at improving the level of awareness about the importance of food safety among all segments of society through events and awareness programmes, which will include two workshops. On April 11-12 at Hormuz Hotel, a workshop entitled ‘the safety and quality of processed food products’ will be held during the food safety week, followed by a second workshop on ‘risk assessment and food traceability in the dry food.’ A workshop, ‘Your Health in Your Food’ will be held that will focus on how to read and use food data card to promote awareness about food, public health, safety, which will be provided by one of the specialists Sultan Qaboos University. Food Safety Week will also include exhibitions, lectures for school students, joint field visits to shops, food factories and slaughterhouses municipalities and recreational events.
