Muscat, August 29 - The expatriates are also contributing towards the National Measles Immunisation Campaign by making all efforts to ensure every resident is administered the measles vaccine. “Through the social media, people living in the country are aware of the national drive,” says Sanil Kumar, a resident of Ruwi who is forwarding WhatsApp messages (that ask people to get themselves vaccinated). “We have a number of groups to whom we forward the message. Our friends will educate people about the need for the vaccine for themselves as well as their friends and families,” he said. The Ministry of Health (MoH) has asked all citizens and residents aged between 20 and 35 years to get themselves vaccinated free of cost for measles between September 10 and 16.
