An Indian expatriate who was trapped in Oman by his wife's relatives will be able to return home on December 23 after the Indian Embassy mediated with his sponsor to resolve the issue.
"The Indian Embassy has been consistently making efforts and mediating with his sponsor. As a result now the case of Jatinder is resolved and he will be reaching Delhi on December 23m," the Indian Embassy said in its statement.
It was a friend who brought the plight of Jatinder Singh to the attention of the Indian Embassy in Muscat as his grandfather approached the authorities.
As per the details, his grandfather in the letter said that the family members of Jitinder's wife found him a labourer's job in Oman, but they kept harassing him by seizing his salary, denying food and physically assaulting him. His health condition was said to be critical.
