MUSCAT: The 1st conference on healthcare infections, organised by the Ministry of Health represented by the Contagious Diseases Department at the Royal Hospital in collaboration with the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases begins today under the auspices of Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosani, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs and lasts for three days.
100 specialists in ICU, infection control, contagious diseases, clinical microbiology and pharmacology from the Sultanate, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon, Kuwait, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Netherlands and Denmark will take part in the conference.
The conference covers three main themes namely the Types of Bacteria, main use of Antibiotics and the Preventive Measures for Controlling Infection in Vital Hospitals.
The conference will be associated with an exhibition for the activities and events implemented by the Contagious Diseases Department at the Royal Hospital.
A number of international companies in the field of infection control, antibiotics and early detection of antibiotic-resistant germs will take part in the exhibition. — ONA
