An Omani researcher has been honoured for his project on better oil excavation process.
Dr Omar bin Said al Abri, a researcher at the Institute of Advanced Technology Integration, received the honour from the Secretariat General of GCC in Manama, where he presented his project on submarine groundwater discharge. He was among those honoured as GCC’s “creative and intelligent youth”.
Commenting on the award, Al Abri said: “Such an honour is an added value to my achievements in research field. I am keen on finding the best solutions that serve our local economy.” Al Abri is the first Omani to get a doctorate in mechanical engineering. He also won a gold medal for innovativeness at the International Commercial Fair in Germany.
