MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) said the Adam-Thamrait road dualisation project is divided into six phases and work is progressing well on the two phases of 240 km. It said work on the remaining four phases has not started due to current financial situation as it will require at least RO 500 million. The ministry said the accidents reported on the road are due to over speeding and not because of the single carriageway. The road is in extremely good condition. The ministry said it is prepared to open any time the road that directly links Saudi Arabia with Oman, when the kingdom is ready from its side. It added that no specific time has been set for its opening.
