Turkey keen on exchange of high-level leadership visits

MUSCAT: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, on Sunday received Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, and his delegation.


HH Sayyid Fahd reviewed the strong relations binding the two countries, as well as the joint keenness to expand cooperation in all fields.


The guest expressed his country’s appreciation to the Sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan for its wise policy and constructive role in promoting understanding and rapprochement among countries.


He also affirmed the keenness of the Turkish leadership to exchange high-level visits between the two countries in an embodiment of the progress being witnessed by the relations, as well as enhancing cooperation with the Sultanate in several fields to serve the joint interests.


Conversation during the meeting touched on the latest developments being witnessed by the region, as well as the regional and international efforts exerted to maintain security and stability in the region.


Separately, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, received Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.


The two sides discussed existing cooperation between the two countries in various fields. They also exchanged viewpoints on various regional and international issues of common concern and the latest developments in the region.


The meeting was attended by Dr Mohammed bin Awadh al Hassan, Acting Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs, and officials in the ministry. From the Turkish side it was attended by the official delegation accompanying the Turkish guest. — ONA
