3-day military music festival begins at Royal Opera House

The three-day Omani Military Music Festival began at Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) courtyard on Thursday. The festival was inaugurated by His Highness Sayyid Shabib bin Taimour al Said, Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for Environmental Affairs. The festival is part of the Sultanate’s celebration of the Glorious National Day under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. This three-day show will feature around 1,000 musicians from various military units.


The team is led by Brigadier Ramis bin Jam’aan al Awairah, Director-General of Music at the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) and co-ordinator of the military teams in the Sultanate.


The participating teams are the RGO the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), the Royal Oman Police (ROP) Band along with the Royal Cavalry, the Royal Camel Corps Music Band, the Scout Band and the RGO Military Woman Infantry Team. These teams will stage different formations and musical performances.


The Honour Guards of the Austrian Armed Forces, the Austrian Waltz Ensemble, the band from the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Folklore Ensemble will also perform orchestral, military and folk music at the festival. — ONA
