MUSCAT: The Ras Al Hamra Open tennis tournament concluded on Saturday evening. A large number of tennis fans attended the Under-18 final, followed by the closing ceremony presided over by Khalid al Aadi, Chairman of Oman Tennis Association (OTA).
In the final for U-18 Boys, the Ras Al Hamra U-16 champion Thomas Dupont faced Oman’s national player Muneer al Rawahi.
Muneer won the match 7-5 after saving two match points.
The tournament was organised by the Tennis Committee of the Ras Al Hamra Recreational Club (RAHRC) in cooperation with OTA on February 23-24 at Sultan Qaboos Sport Complex in Bausher.
A large number of junior players participated in the following categories: U18 boys, U18 girls, U16 boys, U16 girls, U14 boys,
U12 boys, U10 mixed, U9 mixed, and U8 mixed.
Results
The U8 mixed winner is Anes Dob and the runner-up is Vojin Knezevic.
The U9 mixed winner is Rita Malakhova and the runner-up is Ahmed al Hinai.
The U10 mixed winner is Charlie Sennhauser and the runner-up is Leon Toplack.
The U12 boys winner is Ali al Busaidy and the runner-up is Abhishek Deshpande.
The U14 boys winner is Marwan al Khanjari and the runner-up is Noah Sennhauser.
The U14 girls winner is Kaavya Jayakumar and the runner-up is Kira Malakhova.
The U16 boys winner is Ashvat Thangamali and the runner-up is Azzan al Hajri.
The U18 girls winner is Salma al Sharji and the runner-up is Vanshika Chandhary.
The U18 boys winner is Muneer al Rawahi and the runner-up is Thomas Dupont.
