Qantab is barely an hour away from Muttrah but despite being so near, there’s not much that has been said about it.

In the Sultanate today, it is known for its beautiful coastline and blue and emerald water and as of late, has been known as a place where locals and foreigners alike converge especially with the massive real estate development happening in the area.

Travellers who’d been to this part of the country would describe Qantab as peaceful, safe and laidback where locals are very friendly.

Not fully explored, its potential as a hiking and outdoor adventure destination is massive.

Local travellers Ahmed al Jaabri and Mohammed al Hadi both recently hiked through one of the highest peaks in Qantab and they both share that if people see the area where they’d been to, they’d definitely go out and venture more in the less known hiking trails of Qantab.

As Al Hadi would describe it on his Instagram (mohammed_alhadi87), this place where they’d been to is indeed a very nice spot.

“Rocks, sea, villages, sky and myself — they’re all I need when I go on a hike,” he shared alluding to beauty and serenity he experienced.

Al Jaabri, a resident of Yiti, said that Qantab is a perfect escape for him since it’s very near his place.

He added that having been to different parts of the Sultanate and having explored many of its wadis, Qantab is definitely within the lines of must-experience and visited.

“There are many reasons to come. But if one is looking for a hiking escape to Muscat, then this should be the first option for anyone,” he said.
