Oman Paralympic committee signs contract with Towell Group

MUSCAT, June 11 - The Ministry of Sports Affairs represented by Oman Paralympic Committee signed a sponsorship contract with Towell Group. The new sponsorship will cover “Mashkoor” football league for the visually challenged. The signing agreement ceremony was attended by Shaikh Saad bin Mohammed al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs in presence of Shaikh Rashad bin Ahmed al Hinai, Under-Secretary of Sports Affairs and Maqbool Ali Sultan, the Adviser of Towell Group and top officials. Dr Mansoor al Touqi, chairman of Oman Paralympic Committee, said that the Sultanate is one of the first GCC countries and third in the Middle East that have football sport for the visually challenged. Football is one of the approved sports in the list of International Paralympic Games.


“This is the first sponsor agreement for Oman Paralympic committee in its history. Sponsorship agreement is a strategic partnership that led to achieving of sustainable development of football for the blind,” Al Touqi added. “Establishing the rules and regulations of this sport. Providing best training environment to improve the technical skills for people who will play blind football. Also, to have a national blind football team in the future. Organising different referee and training sessions that will build capability of Omani competencies,” Al Touqi explained some parts of sponsorship contract.
