Muscat: The National Commission on Integrated Vector Management held a special meeting at the Ministry of Health on Saturday to discuss the measures for eradication of the recently discovered aedes aegypti mosquito in parts of Muscat.
The meeting, chaired by the Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosani, Undersecretary, Ministry of Health, discussed the latest developments such as the geographical spread of mosquitoes, investigation and eradication efforts exerted by the Ministry of Health and Muscat Municipality.
The committee praised the joint coordinated efforts exerted by the Ministry of Health and Muscat Municipality to control the spread of aedes aegypti mosquitoes.
The meeting concluded with recommendations that focused on the need to address the reasons for the spread of these mosquitoes. The Committee also recommended the need to expedite the preparation of an operational plan called on citizens and residents to cooperate with the investigation teams.
