Aviation photography is more than just an airplane hanging in the sky against the blue sky and photographer Rastislav Margus is taking Aviation photography to a whole new level.

Margus is committed to presenting the world of aviation completely in a new way by giving a soul to the images and the airplanes themselves by incorporating composition, shapes, light, and colors which are significant and symbolic. His style yields eye-catching photographs presenting aviation in a calm yet majestic way where simple shapes and colors are left to speak for themselves.

Rastislav’s art pieces are currently on display at Bait al Zubair which was inaugurated January 24 and will run until February 7, 2019.

Rastislav Marguš, a multi-awarded and talented Czecho-Slovak photographer, started his career as a professional airline pilot of a Boeing Dreamliner commercial jet aircraft for a major national airline. His years as pilot spawned and fueled his passion for photography.

He undertook his first flying lessons when he was 15 years old. While his passion for photography started back in college at the beginning of his professional pilot studies around the year 2000.

Rastislav became a member of the International Federation of Journalist (IFJ) in 2004. With the organisation well connected with various lifestyle and aviation magazine, he was able to learn a lot from them.

In 2010, he became a member of the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP) after his work was reviewed by the jury of professionals in the industry.

The photographers, thorough knowledge of the subject and his ability to create art pieces of high artistic value and technical quality, makes his Aviation Art Exhibition a must-see for those who are looking for a more than encyclopedic view on a world of aviation.

He also said that upon seeing the display of the exhibit, a wide range of aviation and photography and professionals will definitely get inspired.

Rastislav explained that most of the great airplanes displayed on the exhibit are still flying across the skies while a few of them are resting in the fields and silently telling their story of how they were once part of the endless sky.

As Rastislav shared, “On a lot of images, I feature military airplanes. My aim is to admire the aesthetics of the machine without glorifying their purpose.”

Rastislav received the highest appreciation for his work and was honored by Master Qualified European Photographer status which is received only by the Top European Photographers for their supreme quality, flawless technical skills and strong vision in 2018.

Now he is enrolled in Digigraphie, the Epson’s program for Limited Edition prints and focusing solely on his own art projects. His portfolio besides Aviation includes Nature, Wildlife, Architecture, Street Art and more.
