SALALAH: The latest weather analysis shows the formation of a new tropical depression in the South-East Arabian Sea with wind speeds around the center around 17-27 knots.

According to Oman Meteorology, the depression is approximately 2,500 km from the nearest coast and there will be no impact on the Sultanate within the next five days.

The weathermen are busy tracking the route of the new depression, which is persisting over the Equatorial Indian Ocean, off the South Sri Lanka coast and Maldives.

According to some weather websites, the low pressure is building up in coastal areas of southeast India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives and some models of it are showing a low pressure which may direct towards western Dhofar.
