MUSCAT: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) is conducting a survey to measure citizen satisfaction on the services provided by governors’ offices between October 11 to November 5.

The survey aims to gauge beneficiary satisfaction with the services provided and collect opinions and experiences regarding the quality and efficiency of these services. The survey would support efforts to develop municipal services and improve the quality of services provided by the governorates.

The survey focuses on cleanliness and public health; oversight, inspection, and management of public markets; public parks and gardens; governorate development efforts and municipal e-services and permits. It seeks to identify citizens’ opinions and observations and to identify what requires development and improvement thereby enhancing responsiveness to beneficiaries’ needs and aspirations.

Mahfoudh bin Salim al Musharfi, Director of the Public Opinion Measurement Department at the NCSI, said that the survey on citizen satisfaction with governorate office services is a statistical tool used to measure beneficiary satisfaction with services provided in several areas related to their daily lives. This is achieved by monitoring and analysing their opinions and evaluations using approved statistical methodologies. The outcome provides indicators that help relevant authorities identify strengths and areas for improvement, guiding development efforts according to citizens’ needs and aspirations.

He noted that citizen participation and feedback on the services are crucial for enriching the survey results and enhancing their accuracy. He stressed the importance of responses reflecting beneficiaries’ actual experiences, thus providing a clear picture of the level of services provided and identifying areas requiring further development.

Al Musharfi stressed the NCSI’s commitment to ensuring the confidentiality of data and information provided by participants and protecting their privacy.

The survey is part of the NCSI’s efforts to provide statistical indicators that contribute to evaluating and improving service levels, enhancing performance efficiency, and supporting development across the governorates in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. — ONA
